Trapped by Sound

The still of the morn
The call of a melodic tune
Brings creatures great and small
Subdued in the fog of daybreak
To rest reassured that perhaps they are safe

A picture of questions
What is this?
What’s that sound?
Are we indeed safe?

Ears alert eyes transfixed
Waiting in anticipation of what’s next
Paralyzed by a cacophony of rhythmic sounds

Will you help us?
Can you help us?
Help us please!

  1. This is beautiful and filled with a deep mystery and question for us all. Will we help? I hope and pray we will. Lovely writing as always Regina. So glad you joined us at the Muse this week. We have missed you!

  6. The creatures need our help desperately. I love that this photo inspired such a caring response. Each creature's life matters as much to him or her as ours does to us.

  7. I too like "Subdued in the fog of daybreak" The call for help is plausible and one we should heed.

  8. You've captured the sense of waiting for sound or response. I like the way you subtly underline the strangeness & contrast within the image.

  10. Had always wondered how animals address their issues with so many threats from predators especially when protecting their young. Kept pondering on your questions, very incisive!
