Jam Session

Photographed by Dennis Stock ”

An impromptu set
as we sit and beat
thoughts of nothing
thoughts of what was
thoughts of what could have been
friends gone
friends here
unknown friends
love
hate
the music
the rhythm
the beat
melodies
capturing the Love of the world
No barriers
Togetherness
Love
Music
blending us all
One Love
Music bringing us together

Cleansing Inside Out

The Sunday Muse #169

The absolute freedom of relaxation

No thought of the here and now

Moving forward to what awaits

Expectations of nothing

The newness of everything

Beginnings and end

On Edge

Photography by Artist, Jasper James

Gazing out beyond
looking but not looking
seeking and yet to find
the path that brings me
off the ledge

Trapped in a myriad of closed doors.
Shouting for help
Please
Hear my cry
See my sorrow
Heal my heart

Seconds, minutes, hours…days pass

One step backwards is progress

Alive and off the ledge

Lace, lattice of mahogany leaves entwined
as one to travel upward.

Thoughts of emerging from invisible to visible.

Vibrantly awakened, dazed yet not confused.

A journey continued from days long passed.

Searching to find what was once mine,
in hopes to be the betrothed once more.

Longing, desiring boldly to be...

The Road Ahead

~"Seeing Black & White" photography by the lovely and talented Susie Clevenger~

I'm Linking with The Sunday Muse #116

Journeying life’s highways and by-ways

Releasing past transgressions

Looking forward to new possibilities

Gazing in the mirror at what once was

Separating the gray to black and white

In hopes of a new tomorrow

The Road Ahead ... My Journey

The end is near but not to close
Miles ahead lie the unknown

Willing and ready to dive in head first
Success or failure both a learning game

From dusk to dawn ready for the world or Not
Here I come driving up the road to the new me

Be it rain, snow, or potholes
I am destined to climb the hill
                   And raise the victory flag
                   Defeat is not an option

I look back at how far I’ve come
And continue to press onward

Escape

"Rocket" by Brad Phillips

Today, yesterday, tomorrow
Chaos reigns
Cities, States, Continents and Countries
Planet earth no longer safe
Escaping to the stars and stroids
to live amongst that which is alien
to be free of judgment
No roles to play, just a life to live
Human; one race, red blood
One nation under God, but never justice for all
Escaping to the beyond to find acceptance
in the abyss of unknown

No Shelter

Linking with The Sunday Muse #83

"After the Rain" by Cyril Rolando

As I stroll the spacious terrain of emptiness
That once was clustered with a myriad of greenery
I look around and weep at the vast amount of loss
to mankind and animals great and small.

Trapped by Sound

Photography by Sarolta Ban
View website HERE

The still of the morn
The call of a melodic tune
Brings creatures great and small
Subdued in the fog of daybreak
To rest reassured that perhaps they are safe

A picture of questions
What is this?
What’s that sound?
Are we indeed safe?

Ears alert eyes transfixed
Waiting in anticipation of what’s next
Paralyzed by a cacophony of rhythmic sounds

Will you help us?
Can you help us?
Help us please!

Beyond the Light

Photo Source Courtesy of Alastair Magnaldo

What is it that I see, could it be a playground?
No swings nor slides just ladders and ropes.
Brightly shines the ball of light, should I dare hope!

Where does it lead?  Up and Up some children go;
before me others dare to see the mystery.
They climb and hoist themselves up ropes and ladders.

Shall I too escape the sand and dunes of nothingness,
to be filled with the light of wondrous joy that
lifts us up and out of this despair.

I to shall follow the light of a new future that
SHINES BRIGHT.

Good Morning

Although withered by time
we commune in silence
seeking Grace and Mercy.

At peace with nature
searching for a tune
to cleanse the spirit.
