Brighter State of Mind

Bluebonnets, Daffodils, Water Lilies, and Mutant Ground Orchids
Just name a few springtime blooms that add a bit of wistfulness
and pleasure to the peaceful existence of my everyday

A beautiful scene and sinfully scintillating garden of flowers that
At times put me in a melancholy state of mind
of remembrance of the days where I muddled through

Today I choose to smell the flowers and push forward
To a brighter, more colorful state of mind

A place of euphoria, to feed as the monarch feeds on the azalea
To break free and emerge stronger, lighter, and shining brighter
